Laboratory Overview
At the Information and Communications Laboratory of Toyota Technological Institute, we focus on optical fiber communications as the foundation of next-generation information and communication infrastructure, pursuing research on ultra–high-speed and large-capacity transmission technologies.
As the information society continues to develop rapidly, communication networks are expected to deliver ever higher performance and reliability. Our laboratory tackles these challenges by exploring advanced optical communication technologies, including transmission characteristics of signals, multilevel modulation formats, space-division multiplexing, and wavelength-division multiplexing, to push beyond the current limits of networks.
Our approach integrates both experimental and theoretical perspectives, and we actively engage in joint research with other institutions as well as collaborations with industry, aiming to bring our research outcomes into real-world applications.
We value creativity and a spirit of challenge in pioneering the future of communication technology, while providing an environment where students can take initiative and fully immerse themselves in research.
